About Pastor Ed |
|

I am not your typical pastor. I was a wild child growing up, using drugs, attending parties, getting into legal trouble. After high school I went off to Hawaii to play and party. From there to San Diego and Phoenix before making my way back to my home town of Bellingham, Washington.
I’ve been many places in life. Spiritually I’ve been all over the map - my faith is being transformed continuously. I was a full-blown drug addict the first third of my life, then an ordained pastor for the second third, and now God is calling me to be an addiction crusader.
As I look back on the road I've traveled, I see God's hand in it all and the insights of each new day. Now I feel a new call, a call of the Spirit into the days ahead. Join me! We can walk this new road together.
I see a vision. There are churches of all varieties in every community in America. These faith communities are perfectly positioned to make an enormous difference in the fight against addiction of every kind.
Not only are they perfectly positioned geographically, but most of them have members attending who are in recovery from addiction. These people understand the problem well, but because faith communities are mostly uncomfortable with the topic, they keep it to themselves. These healed spiritual people have had to remain anonymous and silent because of the stigma the church has helped to perpetuate.
What if we were able to change that? What if we could educate faith leaders about the truth of addiction? What if we could teach them ways to understand it and heal it? What if we encouraged broken and healed people to share their stories in their faith communities about what God did for them? I believe we can unleash a multitude of leaders in the church with some life-saving ministries!
Can you imagine the transformation of healing that would follow? When people share their brokenness and stories of healing, it opens the whole world to compassion and healing - it ripples out and it multiplies!
This is the vision. It starts with education, then inspiration, then action. This is what I want us to help make happen - educate faith leaders, inspire them with the possibilities of healing and new life and vitalization, then equip them with the means for making it happen.
It’s a beautiful vision given by God to help confront one of the worst prevalent and preventable health and spiritual issues facing our country right now. Can you see it?
I’m going on this new journey. I’m committing my life to it. But I don’t want to go alone. I can’t do it alone. Will you come with me and see where God will take us? I’m excited and would love to have you go with me. Will you join me?
I look forward to hearing from you. (See below)
